Before reaching the summit at 638 meters, take time to share the tale of the Blaník Knights, who, according to legend, rest within the mountain, ready to rise and defend the nation when called upon. A short detour will bring you to Veřejova Rock, the legendary resting place of the brave warriors.

• Interesting fact: Over the centuries, the legend of the Blaník Knights evolved, gaining a stronger patriotic tone after 1848, symbolizing the awakening of a dormant nation. The theme was embraced by artists like playwrights Václav Kliment Klicpera and Josef Kajetán Tyl, and even became part of Bedřich Smetana’s symphonic poem Blaník from his From My Homeland cycle. At the summit, you’ll find a 29.5-meter wooden lookout tower, built by the Czech Tourist Club in 1941 to replace its weathered predecessor.
