The lookout tower, which stands out with its modern wooden design, is located near Hudlice. It offers a view of the Brdy and Křivoklát regions and is accessible to tourists all year round.
The Máminka Lookout Tower rises in the heart of the Brdy forests like a slender wooden beauty. Visit this peaceful region and enjoy the harmonious combination of architecture, nature and a view that is a feast for the eyes.
The elegant Máminka lookout tower stands high above the Brdy forests, where it is a joy to look around at the beauties of the Central Bohemian landscape. Its wooden structure in the shape of a triangular pyramid was designed to blend naturally into the surrounding nature on the Krušná hora hill near Beroun.
The lookout tower was built in 2015 according to a design by architect Martin Rajniš. It is impressive not only for its height of 33 metres, but also for its light and airy structure made of larch wood. A special method of so-called fan construction was used, thanks to which the structure appears fragile, yet remains incredibly stable.
You climb 96 steps to the top, and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama in every season. Feel free to plan a trip in both the summer and winter seasons; the lookout tower is freely accessible all year round.
Stop in Hudlice and get to know the birthplace of the linguist and revivalist Josef Jungmann. You can visit his birthplace or sit in a local pub. You can also walk to the nearby rock Hudlická skála. An easy climb will take you to other views, this time from a different perspective.
Where does the viewpoint’s unusual name come from? The lookout tower is called ‘Máminka’ in honour of all mothers and caregiving women, because - just like them - it offers perspective, safety, and a sense of calm.
