You can see the largest railway exhibition in our country in Lužná u Rakovníka. The premises of the former heating plant house 30 locomotives, various types of wagons and models or historical tickets.
Lužná u Rakovníka is a small village in the Křivoklát forests and an important railway junction. But the museum located here is of great interest. It is the largest collection of steam locomotives, wagons and railway equipment that you can see in our country. In the premises of the former heating plant of Buštěhradské dráhy you will also find such peculiarities as a rail crane or a snow thrower. The exhibits also include a narrow-gauge railway with a gauge of 800 mm.
The exhibits are divided according to individual branches of railway transport. In the introductory, somewhat technical part, you will learn about the principle of the locomotive and the history of the Buštěhradská dráha railway. You will also be able to view many three-dimensional exhibits, drawings and photographs. In the transport and transportation sector, you will certainly be interested in historical tickets, signals and switches.
The nearby JK CLASSICS Museum of American Historic Cars is an obvious choice. You will see 100 exhibits of American classics, which are distinguished by their luxurious design and low number of pieces produced. There are famous brands like Cadillac, Lincoln, Chrysler and FORD. If you are interested in even more ancient history, take a walk through the historical centre of Rakovník or head to the presidential château in Lány.
