The only via ferrata in Central Bohemia, located in the natural monument Slánská Hora near Slaný, offers a great experience for both beginners and experienced climbers.
The basalt mountains above Slaný offer stunning views and an adrenaline rush for adventure seekers. Welcome to the Slánská Hora via ferrata.
Craving some adrenaline? Head to the basalt mountain near Slaný, where the ferrata offers both breathtaking views and an exciting challenge. It’s no surprise that via ferratas have become so popular – they stretch your body, clear your mind, and immerse you in nature. The first two climbing routes were built in 2015, and since then, more have been added. Today, there are seven routes and several connecting paths for both beginners and seasoned climbers.
Whether you’re looking for a pleasant walk, fun, or a solid workout, this is the perfect place. It’s ideal for beginners or introducing children to climbing, but for experienced climbers, the hardest challenge is the D/E route – currently the toughest via ferrata in the Czech Republic.
The routes are located on the northern slope of Slánská Hora, an extinct volcano with a base of black basalt. Each route has a 40-meter elevation and can be completed in under 30 minutes. If you want to explore more, take a walk along the educational trail to enjoy the view from the other side.
For safety, visitors must get familiar with and follow the rules. With a bit of courage, you’ll be ready to tackle Slánská Hora. Try routes like Richtrovka, Spirála, Cesta přátelství, or Slánská promenáda.
