Cool refreshing water and a fun swim – doesn’t this sound like the ideal way to spend warm holiday days? And it is! We have some tried-and-tested tips on where to go for outdoor swimming in Central Bohemia.
Put on your swimsuit and beach shoes, there is an array of outdoor swimming pools on offer. There is plenty for adults and children who don’t get out of water, as well as those who prefer to sunbathe near the water surface on a deck chair – or perhaps you prefer beach sports? There is something for everyone.

Are you feeling hot? Hurry up and get in your swimsuit! The largest water park in the Czech Republic Aquapalace Prague in Čestlice offers endless refreshing relaxation. You can swim and splash around for hours and hours. Look forward to adventure, relaxation, adrenaline and lots of fun.
You won’t even know which of the many local attractions to try first – the longest water slide in our country, the wild river, the sea waves, the spacebowl or a laser show you won’t see anywhere else! The local slides and water chutes are a safe bet – you can ride over 1 km in total without repeating a single ride.
The Beroun aquapark is home to a recently nicely and successfully renovated outdoor swimming pool, which includes a water slide, kamikaze slide, wild river and grassy sunbathing areas for relaxing. Are you an early riser? On Tuesdays and Thursdays, if the weather allows, you can also enjoy a morning swim.
More fun and desired refreshment awaits you in the aquapark in Hořovice. Look forward to four pools including one for non-swimmers with a swinging rope, a slide with an island and a water mushroom. Massage beds, water spouts and a bottom air grid are attractions you won’t get tired of. Both young and old will find something to love.
The aquaparks in Slaný and Kladno are covered, but this can be very useful when you are surprised by rain yet you don’t want to miss the summer water fun.
Retro swimming pool and Water World – come on in
Looking for something extra? Visit the town spa in Mšeno – a unique swimming pool that is a rare architectural work in the Art Deco style with a distinct atmosphere and one of the real gems of the region since 1932. The town spa is a place of pleasant relaxation and refreshment – the water from the rock spring will cool you down for sure.
What place will make children rejoice and adults just as well? Central Bohemia’s Milovice will offer you the Mirakulum amusement and educational park with its Water World. The unique water park brings unusual fun, playing under the water jets will never grow boring. Mirakulum also additionally offers a rope park, a forest town high in the treetops, a fairy tale village, a majestic wooden castle, secret underground passages, an intricate maze, a small zoo, huge swings, trampolines and much more.

The summer swimming pool Bažantnice with its atypical pool shape can be found in the beautiful green surroundings of the Kladno forest park of the same name in the vicinity of the Kročehlava residential area, while the summer swimming pool Sletiště is located in the centre of a unique complex of sports grounds, still in Kladno. Look forward to its triple slide and Monday morning swimming.
The Mělník swimming pool not only boasts fresh water, but also expansive green areas with large trees and a complex of swimming pools with attractions. Not a fan of chemicals? You will appreciate the biotope!
Kind of a swimming pool and kind of a natural lake – that’s the natural swimming biotope. An artificial lake that might have a number of pool elements, but much of the work is left to nature. The essence of a biotope is that the maintenance of clean water is left by aquatic plants and natural ecosystems. And you can also swim in a biotope – where?
The swimming pool in Divišov is actually a revitalised, modern swimming biotope, clean and full of cheer. The Pilař Votice bio-swimming pool is located near the Pilař pond and, thanks to the clean water, offers swimming suitable for those with allergies. It has pleasant facilities with a buffet, toilets and changing rooms. You will also enjoy the Jince biotope near Hořovice, the Nový rybník in Příbram with its recently built littoral zone or Radotín near Prague.
