In the Open-Air Museum in Přerov nad Labem, one of the oldest in Europe, you’ll be captivated by furnished cottage interiors, a grandmother’s garden, and a cinematic past. Explore nearly forty objects of folk architecture, with figurines in period costumes and various events bringing rural daily life to life.
Established in 1895, the Open-air Museum in Přerov nad Labem began its modern history as a rescue open-air museum in 1967. Today, it showcases nine cottages, seven granaries, four barns, and other folk architecture, including replicas of lost structures. The museum also features a fruit dryer and a garden with medicinal herbs.
Cottage interiors depict the village life from the mid-18th to mid-20th century, adorned with costumed figurines. The museum features a rich collection of ancestral clothing for everyday and festive occasions. The Open-air Museum in Přerov nad Labem also hosts regular ethnographic exhibitions, with traditional Easter and Christmas events becoming popular.
