The castle premises reflect the late Renaissance and the era when Roztoky near Prague was a cherished retreat for the city’s industrialists. Explore the former barn beside the castle, offering a journey from the late Stone Age to the recent past at Zdenka Braunerová’s Studio.
The Central Bohemian Museum in Roztoky near Prague features architecturally valuable premises with year-round exhibitions, educational programs, and diverse events. Explore two permanent exhibitions in the castle and its sculpture-filled park through guided tours.
The exhibit “Life in the Resort” explores the origins of the first resorts for the urban middle class at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Meanwhile, “Manor Administration” recreates the atmosphere of the estate manager’s private spaces during the Lichtenstein era.
Since 2022, the museum features the Archevita exhibition – In the Footsteps of Ages, situated in the former barn next to the castle. It spans from prehistory to the early Middle Ages, showcasing 1:1 scale replicas of prehistoric dwellings and archaeological finds. Enhanced with computer perspectives and holographic projections, the exhibit also offers playful and educational elements for younger visitors through information kiosks.
