Bike Trips
A leisurely journey through the Central Bohemian countryside from Kralupy nad Vltavou to Slaný and back will take you to an orchard as well as among golf holes.
A route that is beautiful in every season. Orchards, avenues and wild trees attract with their rich blossoms in spring, sweet fruits in summer and shades of golden colour in autumn.
The bus and train station in Kralupy nad Vltavou is an ideal starting point for a sightseeing trip. In addition, just a short walk away you will find a parking house with a place to charge electric bikes. To get to Slaný, stick to cycle route No. 202, which leads along quiet roads, past ponds and the zoo in Olovnice to the orchards on the border of Slaný.
Stay in the royal city, there is more than enough to see: the Holy Trinity Monastery, the historic centre with the Church of St. Gothard, the Velvar Gate, the Town Hall and the Piarist College with the Chapel of the Betrothal of the Virgin Mary, which currently houses the Museum of Homeland History and the Municipal Library. If you are a fan of views, climb Slánská hora (on foot or with a bit of adrenaline on the via ferrata) and enjoy a different perspective of the city. Or take a look at another pride of the city - the oldest Baroque replica of the Holy Sepulchre in Bohemia.
You can return by train or by bike through another royal town, Velvary. Just continue from Slaný along route No. 202 to Drchkov, from where bike trail No. 8242 leads to Velvary. In the city you will see the Church of St. Catherine, Prague Gate and the vast historic square. Continue from the town via Chržín, Nová Ves and Staré Ouholice to Miřejovice. At the local lock chamber you can get back to the Vltava. Bike trail No. 7 (EV7, Vltavská) along the river will take you to Nelahozeves. In addition to the beautiful renaissance château don’t miss a visit to the family house of Antonín Dvořák. The nature trail is also named after the composer and follows the bike trail from here and will lead you back to Kralupy nad Vltavou.
