Bike Trips
A route that can be conquered even with the smallest cyclists connects two royal places, the town of Rakovník and Křivoklát Castle. The path through the valley of the Rakovnický brook is also suitable for bike carts.
Take the smallest members of your family, who will be rewarded with a large forest playground at the end of the trip, and set off from the royal town of Rakovník to the royal castle of Křivoklát. In addition to touring the castle interiors, you can try archery in the castle courtyard or escape from Kelley’s jail.
From the train station in Rakovník, go down to the Rakovnický Brook and let yourself be led along the bike trail 303 to Křivoklát. Along the way you will pass several well-preserved buildings of former water mills, you will cross the stream and the railway line several times. The surroundings of the trail and the trail itself are very varied. Almost halfway through the trip you will pass through the village of Pustověty, where you can have a snack in the Na Ostrov pub and regain your strength for the second half of the bike trip. This will lead you to the iconic Křivoklát Castle.
The bike trip does not have to end with the tour of the castle. In the foothills of Křivoklát there is the Motorcycle Museum with an exhibition of a complete collection of Jawa and ČZ travel motorcycles up to 1959. You can end the trip with a pleasant rest in the garden of the restaurant of Hotel Sýkora or a little further in Hospůdka Pohoda with a view of the castle. From there you will go to the train station and take the train back to Rakovník.
